‘…a playful comment on class and table manners’ at Arlington Arts, Snelsmore.

‘Julia Douglas’ oven gloves bear ‘X-ray’ prints of the working hands inside them. In other work, she uses traditional willow pattern design ironically, not in its definiing blue, but in red, purple, pink and orange, not on fine china but on paper plates and napkins, a playful comment on class and table manners. The traditional blue dies appear – but on plasters and their -Bone Aid- box. her bottle bags helpfully carry a conceptual corkscrew.’
