Content Management for WordPress

If you’re struggling to the find the time, the inclination, or the know how to keep your WordPress (WP) website content up to date, I am happy to do this for you.

I started putting this WP site together in the summer of 2010 and in October 2010 I launched an online shop, called ‘baffie’. This shop was open for a year and needed ongoing updates to the pages, new stock added from time to time and continued marketing done for the site through Newsletters and the various Social Media.

Through the development of these sites I have realised how labour intensive and time consuming this content management is, but, as it’s something I enjoy doing (systematic, repetitive, meticulous work suits me!) and something I’m sure many of you hate or simply don’t have the time for, I realise that I could be offering this as a service.

The extent of my knowledge:

I did absolutely everything on baffie, from the photography to writing the copy to inputting the content (although I did have input in the design of the site from Colin Usher of Coffee With a Lid). I am not a web designer, however I can do the following:

I have become expert in adding pages, posts, media, categories, images, tags and links within WP. My online shop used eShop, which is one of the more complicated back ends for a WP site with a number of details needing added for each product. So, with this knowledge, I am confident that I could easily understand your site’s requirements.

I was already a confident photographer (having been a practicing visual artist for 11 years) with advanced skills in image manipulation using Adobe Photoshop. I learned how to also manage images in Adobe Lightroom and save them at the correct scale and compression for the website.

I am an able writer and can confidently transform your text into appropriate content for a Post, Newsletter or Facebook update, for example. I am also pretty good at spotting typos or grammatical errors.

There are many variables regarding what you might require: you may have just launched a new WP site and need an intense blitz to get the content from your old site transferred over, you may want me for a regular weekly or monthly day to do updates, you may have images that you would like me to work on and include, you may like me to do the odd Twitter or Facebook update for you when I have put a new post up,…
