I feel privileged to have been trusted with designing an archival website for the American Master Sculptor, Milton Elting Hebald (1917 – 2015).
His work can be found in prominent public places in America – ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (pictured) in Central Park, New York City, NY, ‘Olympiade’, YMCA, Downtown Los Angeles, CA, ‘Handstand’ in Morefar Golf Course. Brewster, NY & Danbury, CT – and Internationally – ‘Dancing Family’ in Trevignano, Rome, ‘Shakespeare’s Mirror’ in Aschehoug Verlag Oslo, Norway – the lists go on!
I was particularly impressed by an earlier work, which is sadly no longer in situ. ‘Zodiac Screen’ was commissioned by Pan-American Airlines for its terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport (pictured top). It was a 67m (220 ft) bronze, depicting all 12 signs of the zodiac. Fantastic!
The website was commissioned by his lovely granddaughter Lara Hebald Embry. She was such fun to work with and, though the creation of this site seemed like an enormously ambitious task, we got there together in the end!
Please enjoy the work of this fascinating and significant artist by visiting his new website.
